Hi Everyone. Thank You for visiting & please excuse me, but I am new to the world of “blogging”. I have started this site for the following reason:

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month I am getting the community together to donate ponytails to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths Campaign. Pantene has joined with the wig manufacturer, HairUWear, in order to make NO COST wigs for women with cancer. I am holding this “awareness-raiser” on Sunday October 28^{th      11am- 5 pm.}

 at Runyons Roadside Tavern in East Meadow. See the Runyons website to the right of this page.

You can visit www.pantene.com and click on Beautiful Lengths to get more information on their wig making process & the requirements.

This fundraiser is going to work like this: We will have refreshments served throughout the entire funraiser donated from Runyons & local businesses.There will be prize raffles throughout the day. Attending will be an advocate to spread info & answer any questions referring to breast cancer & women’s health. Literature will also be provided. We are looking for women & girls to donate their hair. You can visit the website www.pantene.com to view details on the requirements for hair donation. This is the same concept as the well-known charity Locks for Love. Except Pantene is making NO-COST wigs for women with cancer. What a wonderful way to help a woman in such a time of need and compassion. So, with the community, we hope to pull off a spectacular fundraiser.

Hair donators are needed to donate 8 or more inches of hair in a ponytail. The donators will receive a haircut from a professional hair stylist from a local salon.The donators will also receive a thank you gift and recognition from Pantene.

Hair stylists are needed to volunteer any amount of time they are able. Anything would be a great help. Depending on the amount of donators, each donator will get aprox. 25 minutes for their cut.

Helper volunteers are needed to help spread the word! This could even be a great way for an older child to get community service for school or church, or for anyone that may have some free time to donate! Raffle Items are needed to be raffled off to our friends & community.

  Count me in for what ever you need. As you know,I’m not a hair dresser and m hair is cut very short these days…BUT PLEASE tell me what I can do to help.
